Excited to be heading on the final leg to Vienna, we left our time-warp hotel and set off on our day of cycling.

We first headed toward the “road safety” for a final round of fun, then followed the path toward Vienna.

The swooping paths offered fantastic views of the river!

We weren’t ready for a break but stopped at this restaurant for the views!

The weather was heating up but the sun and skies were gorgeous.

We came to a spot where locals were swimming! I had anticipated this and after a short discussion we decided to take a short break and allow the kids to swim in the river!

We are so glad we did! The water was crisp and clear, in a quiet offshoot of the Danube. Fish were swimming around Talia’s legs and ducks were paddling nearby. Talia was thrilled to swim with ducks! We had to tear them away afterwards!

It was hot and tiring after the cool water and shady trees. So lunch break at a tiny shack on the path was most welcome. Hordes of students descended on the place as we were ordering. The food quality surprised us as this was some of the best gyros and kebabs we had!

Continuing onward, I spotted a tiny railway and stopped to allow the kids to take a look. It was a model set that ran for a few kilometers! Pity it was closed on that day.

Even though it’s sticky and humid like Singapore, the heat of the day still saps your energy.

Another short break at cute playground livens up the kids. This one had a pulley bowl which allowed you to pull a bucketloads of sand up then our it down a chute. Ethan and Talia loved it!

Soon we saw signs of the big city!

We followed bike paths all the way into the heart of Vienna.

Passing warehouses with graffiti decoration aplenty.

Ethan gawked at his trains up close.

I gawked at a mobile coffee trike that was super cool!

We cycled into a city residential area and found our apartment. It was an AirBnB, made worth it by the fact we were staying 2 nights here! We slept very well!
