What will the new day hold? Bike touring has a sense of adventure that can’t be dampened even with the light rain that fell in the morning.

We found an amazing cafe with incredible breads. The pretzel was the best we ever had. It was like an epiphany, “Ohhh… this is what a fresh pretzel should taste like!”

I never tire of looking at this happy beautiful face!

Quite proud of the kids handling the cobblestones on their 23c tires!

It was about 21 deg as we set off after the rain.

Can’t remember who spotted this milk vending machine but we stopped to check it out. It was awesome! Put in 1 euro and get 1 L of super fresh and icy cold milk. We emptied a water bottle and guzzled it!

Talia loves to pick wild flowers and decorate her handlebar bag as we go along! Very cute!!

Renata and Talia look like a great pair!

Our morning snack stop in Bogen involved a level crossing and a cafe at a working train station.

Of course we had to stop here for Ethan to see the old trains. The kids shared a snack and the adults shared a coffee.

Did I mention Talia’s favorite part of bike touring is getting up close to animals?

Ethan is very relaxed and confident on this bike ride, having put Seoul-Busan under his belt. Now he has his sister to ride with and chat too, he says it’s even more fun! And sister isn’t too slow like she was 1-2 years ago!

At one point we decided to go on the paved road below while Ethan stayed on the elevated gravel track. This kid needs a gravel bike with Dad for our next epic un-paved ride!

We stayed at NH Deggendorff. I was very pleased with this find at S$90 with a room with a sofa that converts into a bed. Since I brought sleeping bag liners for the kids we didn’t have to pay extra for bedding! 👍
